Course Description

The course is almost a horseshoe shape, is run left handed and is 2 miles in length.

Facilities

The County Stand

The Gimcrack Restaurant is a formal restaurant serving 3 course lunch and afternoon tea. Alcoves has a cosy atmosphere, it serves a selection of lighter bites. The Ebor Bistro is on the ground floor of the Ebor Stand it serves hot meals or just snacks. Giant screens are also in place so you don't miss a race.

The Grandstand & Paddock Enclosure

This enclosure has the Knavesmire: a 'self-service' style café offering a wide menu from hot meals to sandwiches. There are a variety of bars and food outlets.

Directions

By Road
York Racecourse is just outside the city of York with good motorway links on the M1 and A1. Once near the city, from the south, east and west the A64 and A1036 are the roads to follow. From the north, use the A19 and A59, then the York Ring Road to avoid the city centre.

By Rail
Fast and frequent rail services take as little as 1 hour 52 minutes from London Kings Cross and some 2.5 hours from Edinburgh. Manchester and Birmingham are also direct. (The course is 1 mile from the station and City Centre and a First Bus raceday shuttle runs every 20 minutes).
