Course Description
The course is run left-handed and is approximately 1 mile 4 furlongs.
The last bend into the home straight is tight and then its a steady ascent for the
final 4 furlongs. There is an extension on the end of the home straight and this is
used for the sprint races.
Facilities
Bath Racecourse has three Enclosures on a Race-day, the Premier Enclosure,
the Grandstand & Paddock Enclosure and the Centre Course Enclosure.
The Premier Enclosure has the prime viewing position on the racecourse
adjacent to the winning line and has the most comprehensive facilities.
You have full access to all public areas of the course including the Parade
Ring and Winners' Enclosure, plus exclusive use of the Premier Bar and Restaurant.
The Grandstand and Paddock Enclosure has an excellent viewing area with seating and
a variety of catering and bar outlets. There is also access to the Bookmakers, the
Parade ring and the Winners enclosure.
The Centre Course Enclosure is a popular choice for families with acres of picnic space
and the option of parking within the enclosure. There is a bar which serves snacks and
provides betting facilities.
Directions
By road:
Conveniently located two miles North of the city centre, Bath Racecourse is just
six miles South of Junction 18 of the M4 Motorway and is well sign-posted from all
major routes to its location on Lansdown Hill.
By rail: You can reach Bath Racecourse from both the main London Paddington and
South Wales lines. There are also regular connections from Bristol, Cardiff and
Birmingham. Buses and taxis run from the station to the course (10-15 minutes ride).
There is a bus service provided by ‘First' bus company which runs every half an hour
throughout the day starting 2 hours before the first race. The service number is 22
and it picks up from Dorchester Street.
